Sea World

Last updated 29th August, 2023

Discover a world of fun and adventure at Sea World, jam-packed with exciting rides, shows and marine animals, guaranteed to provide a day full of fun.

Sea World is Australia’s premier marine park featuring an amazing array of marine animals, rides and shows. Sea World is open all year round excluding Christmas Day (25 December).

Delve below the surface and discover a whole new world when you meet some of Sea World’s beautiful marine animals. From King and Gentoo penguins to the curious seals, there are many different species of marine animals that call Sea World home.

Built upon the heroes and legends of the Old Atlantis, experience the myths, mysteries and the ultimate Atlantean adventure as you enter the realm of the utopian destination, The New Atlantis. Brave colossal currents, explore a mighty creature and rule from the skies in this fully immersive precinct featuring 3 all new attractions – Leviathan, Trident and Vortex. Prepare to conquer your greatest challenges at The New Atlantis, now open at Sea World.

Meet Australia’s only Polar Bears at Polar Bear Shores at Sea World. The exhibit replicates an Arctic summer and the bears can choose where they would like to rest and play. Often you will spot them relaxed and asleep on the exhibit. Get to know some of the beautiful dolphins that call Sea World home and learn about Sea Worlds ongoing rescue and rehabilitation activities. See sharks glide past huge windows, offering guests a glimpse into the world of one of the ocean’s top predators. Get up close and personal to King and Gentoo Penguins at Penguin Encounter or Little Penguins at Little Penguin Point. Experience Sea Jellies like never before with an illuminated backdrop full of colour and life. Plus, learn all about these amazing creatures in the first of its kind operating research laboratory from Griffith University.

Experience the Tropical Reef Snorkel in Sea World’s Tropical Reef lagoon! You’ll encounter a selection of beautiful tropical fish, majestic rays and other fascinating marine life including the harmless Black tip and White tip reef sharks. You will look through to the Shark Lagoon to see the much larger sharks including one of the most misunderstood sharks, the Bull whaler shark. The water is heated in winter to a very comfortable 22-24 degrees, and features a number of ‘safe havens’ where you can stand and rest while you snorkel. You’ll be accompanied by an experienced Dive Leader for the duration of your snorkel and you’ll also receive a souvenir photograph to take home as a memento of this incredible experience.

Also be sure to watch some of the world’s best freestyle Jet Skiers bring the Sea World lake to life twice daily, with thrilling aerial stunts and fast action on purpose designed Jet Skis made for speed.

The Reef at Castaway Bay is an all new and fully accessible interactive splash area featuring an array of water cannons, spouts and life-sized animal sculptures that will provide hours of entertainment for the little ones. It is the ideal attraction for the entire family to sit back and relax during their day out at Sea World.

Meet your favourite Nickelodeon characters at Sea World every day including Chase and Marshall from PAW Patrol, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dora the Explorer, SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick Star and Squidward!
