Everything that opened on the Gold Coast last month.
Hello, it’s July (in case you didn’t notice your life flashing before your eyes) and a lot has happened in the last month.
Seems there’s no end to new eateries popping up on the Gold Coast and as is our duty, here’s a list of everything that opened in June.
Get on it because soon it’ll be August and there’ll be even more.
Madam Fu
Sister venue to long-established Gold Coast eatery FuManchu, Madam Fu is bringing modern Asian dishes to Isle of Capri with a side of water views. The menu is packed with modern flavours combining Asian and European influences and designed for sharing. We’re talking Grilled King Prawns with green papaya som tam and toasted coconut and they are very tasty. Read more here.

Sisterhood Coffee
Palmy neighbourhood vibes are abundant at Sisterhood Coffee, a sweet little spot on the highway slinging five star coffee and nourishing, delicious eats. It’s the work of two local gals who wanted to bring some good vibes to the area and that they have friends. Their motto is good food, good moods and a good space to spend time and the menu is filled with fresh, comforting eats of the all day breakfast variety that are mostly vegetarian but can, of course, be made meaty upon request. It’s the goods. Read more here.

Moana Restaurant and Bar
It’s a seafood extravaganza at another Isle of Capri newbie, Moana Restaurant and Bar and you’re going to want to sample this tasty spot. It’s a beautifully fitout space with high ceilings and plenty of light flooding in. On the menu are all of the locally sourced seafood dishes and all at very affordable prices. The Tahi is made up of the fish of the day, juicy prawns, scallops, bugs on rice and with white wine buerre blanc sauce. SO good. Read more here.

Roller Door Espresso
A sweet new coffee spot for Bundall, Roller Door Espresso is found in a little back alley serving up Toby’s Estate brews, a few tasty takeaway bites and all of the good vibes. It’s the work of a local lass who also owns boutique lighting company Three Balls Red and clearly knows a thing or two about creating exceptional businesses. Pop past for a coffee next time you’re in the area and peruse the locals homewares stores while you’re at it. Read more here.
Where: 2/85 Ashmore Rd, Bundall
Oi Izakaya
Love you Japanese eats. Especially if you’re of the authentic, extremely delicious variety and tucked away in a little back alley at Burleigh Heads. Oh hey, Oi Izakaya is bringing all of those things and more and we’re here for it. The menus’ pièce de résistance is Okonomiyaki, the dish that made the boys fall in love with Japanese eats and the reason we now get to spend all our time at Oi Izakaya. It’s super tasty and even better washed down with a Japanese whisky. Read more here.

Pearl & Ash
A stunning new café and wine bar found at The Brickworks in Southport, Pearl & Ash is serving up breakfast, brunch and sweet goodies that’ll keep you coming back to taste test them all. We’re quite partial to the Roasted Spiced Cauliflower that comes with pumpkin and thyme hummus, baby vegetables, tofu and avocado. It is a healthy, taste sensation. Plus you can wash any and all dishes down with either a wine or a coffee and we really love that a lot. Read more here.

Elia Greek Island Tavern
Greek food with marina views anyone? That’s what’s up at Marina Mirage newbie Elia Greek Island Tavern as of this very week. Authentic Greek eats, organic wine and sparkly Broadwater treats for your eyeballs. It’s a sensory overload of the very best kind. We recommended all of the dishes from the charcoal meat menu, particularly the lamb. Okay and the seafood. Read more here.
Where: Marina Mirage, Seaworld Drive, Main Beach
Nahm Kitchen & Bar
Some of the best Thai food on the Gold Coast can be found at newbie Nahm Kitchen & Bar on the mall at The Oasis Shopping Centre Broadbeach. The dishes are made up of all the flavours you know and love but with a modern twist that will see you devouring every single one. We were BIG fans of the Coconut Prawns with caramelized coconut, ginger sauce and lime and the Salt and Five Spices Fried Squid. And everything else, but those really tickled our tastebuds.
