Right here on the Gold Coast.
There’s no doubt Australian Outback is one of the most beautifully diverse natural environments in the world but it may not be one you’ve ever considered spending time in because yes, it’s quite vast and somewhat overwhelming to consider seeing it all.
But you really should at some point in your life and don’t forget we’re holidaying at home this year. Until then though, there’s an option a little bit closer to your actual home and it’s a very good alternative, should you not have time to drive for days on end for a holiday right now.
It’s called Australian Outback Spectacular and it’s right here on the Gold Coast, so you can satiate all your country Australia curiosities and you even get a free cowboy hat while you’re doing it.
Australian Outback Spectacular has been around for a few years now but the premise remains the same, storytelling centred around the Australian Outback complete with incredible special effects, music and comedy and of course, (our favourite part) horses, farm animals and a couple of farm dogs we would like to take home thank you very much.
We don’t want to give too much away but the show is indeed spectacular, performed in a dirt-filled arena where said horses (and their riders) perform tricks and do a little dancing and generally be the incredible animals they are.
In the current show, Heartland, you’ll also learn a lot about Australia’s drought, the way of life in the outback and what it takes to make a roadkill rissole (which we don’t suggest you try at home). There’s a real life mustering session and a little bit of love and a dog that can turn off lights with his little paws. What’s not to love.
Oh and you also get a three-course dinner and unlimited beer, wine and soft drink included in your ticket price so it’s pretty much the perfect night out.
Speaking of tickets, there are a few options to choose from; General Admission is $99.99 for adults, Top Rail Premium is $129.99 (includes a pre-show beverage, a souvenir program, an exclusive photograph plus more) and The Drovers Lounge is $259.99 including a four-course dinner, premium beverages, a dedicated attendant and a behind the scenes tour where you can MEET THE ANIMALS and the crew.
For the month of March you can save 50% on kids admission so there’s really no reason not to go tonight.
It’s a pretty magical time and we highly recommend getting a taste of the Australian Outback any way you can.
