The Star Gold Coast launches Table for 2

Food and cocktails to-go from their exclusive restaurants.

Mei Wei Dumplings

As things on the Gold Coast once again begin to pivot, we are hearing welcome news from a few places we haven’t been able to set foot in for far too long. One of which is The Star Gold Coast, the iconic Broadbeach venue that has been home to many a night of dining, drinking and frivolity. We miss it a lot and we’re sure you do too.

Which is why it’s excellent news that The Star Gold Coast is BACK in a limited way from Wednesday May 13th with brand new at-home dining experiences. That’s right friends, dining will take on a new look with the venue’s popular Mei Wei Dumplings, Garden Kitchen & Bar and Kiyomi all launching multi-course share menus to be enjoyed at home.

It’s called Table for 2 and it means you get to once again enjoy unique dining experiences from some of the Coast’s most-loved menus, all from the comfort of your couch, with which you are now very well acquainted.

Each venue is set to offer a four to six course seasonal menu including a selection of the most popular dishes and some of the teams favourites too.

Not only eats though friends, The Star’s beverage team have also developed a series of hand-crafted cocktails, perfectly paired with the dishes, including the likes of a Japanese Margarita and a Cold Brew Martini. There’ll also be a selection of beer, wine and spirits on offer.

Garden Kitchen & Bar

Now let’s chat food. Mei Wei Dumplings will showcase some of the hawker-style venues favourite dishes including Pork Steamed Dumplings, Spicy Kung Pao Chicken and Mango Sago Cream to name a few. The four dishes are available for $70 and serve two people.

Garden Kitchen & Bar will, as always, delight diners with a seasonal menu made up of the freshest produce. For $50 per person there’s marinated olives, King Prawn Salad, Braised O’Connor Shortrib including sides and a Chocolate Trifle for dessert. Yes please.

At Kiyomi, Executive Chef Chase Kojima and his team have come up with something very special and we would like to eat all of this, every single day please. For $60 per person (six courses) you’ll start with Kingfish Miso Ceviche, Ocean Trout with Wasabi Salsa and Chicken Robata. The two main courses focus on the best produce from the sea with the famous Dengakuman Miso Glazed Toothfish and a Seafood Bouillabaisse. Tofu Cheesecake rounds it all off for dessert. Perfection and just $120 for you and your favourite person.

What a delight.

The Star’s Table for 2 menus are available for dinner seven days a week and can be pre-ordered here (don’t forget to add a chilled matching cocktail for $13). You may have your dinner delivered for $7.50 within a 10 kilometre radius or pick up directly from The Darling Porte Cochere.

Welcome back to one of our absolute favourite local destinations. Good news indeed.

Mei Wei Dumplings

Reminiscent of hawker-style street food, Mei Wei Dumplings brings a unique flavour to Jupiters Casino.

The fit out is raw and industrial with Asian-inspired artwork gracing the interior and giving the restaurant, combined with the fact that you can see the chefs preparing the dishes, an entirely authentic feel.

The array of menu options certainly live up to their name (Mei Wei translates to delicious) and there are flavours to suit every palette.

Entrée options include (to name a few) Pot Sticker Pork and Steamed Dumplings and the choice of a perfectly steeped Jasmine tea or an alcoholic beverage.

Mains range from Prawn and Pork Wonton Soup, BBQ Pork Buns (a standout), Lo Mein, fried rice and an array of BBQ and roasted meats.

The Soya Chicken is tender and flavour-filled and Sautéed Green Beans a fresh and crunchy accompaniment.

There are several flavours of refreshingly fruity Bubble Tea, perfect for balmy summer nights. .

To finish up there are Egg Tarts. There are no words for the deliciousness that was warm custard and flakey, melt-in-your-mouth pastry.

Those little guys, along with the rest of the menu, are available to take away in vast quantities.

Run don’t walk.

When visiting Jupiters, whether you’re in need of a street-food style feast or a late night snack, give Mei Wei Dumplings a try for a quick, affordable dinner, it’ll be sure to tickle your taste buds too.

Hours: Sunday to Thursday 11am to 10pm and Friday and Saturday 11am to 12am.

Where: The Star Gold Coast, 1 Casino Drive, Broadbeach (where Spinners used to be found).
