The Burleigh bunch have relocated to Currumbin.
They say change is as good as a holiday and while we can’t quite remember holidays, we do know of a recent local change that’s quite the treat.
Mostly for those out Currumbin way but also for everyone who owns a car and is willing to drive a little further for coffee and eating purposes.
We’re talking about the recent relocation of Burleigh café Stones Throw to a leafy, new space out Currumbin way.
You may know the spot, it’s the spacious backyard garden that was once home to Neighbourhood Café on Station Street.
If not, the gist is this.
If you’re dining in, you may perch out the front on one of the footpath tables to watch the world go by or pull up a table in the garden, underneath a huge tree or by the cutest kids cubby house should you have the little ones in tow.
Doggies are also welcome.
Of course, you can grab a Fonzie Abbott coffee and some treats from the cabinet to go too.
Those treats are things like Toasties, Wraps, Hawkers and Quesadillas plus savoury muffin-style situations.
On the menu there’s both breakfast and lunch options including plenty of dishes you won’t find anywhere else.
The Saag Aloo Hash for example is pan-fried potato and spinach with chilli scrambled eggs, Indian bread and dahl dipping sauce.
There’s Raspberry and Ricotta Souffle Pancakes with berry coulis and crème fraiche and a packed Breakfast Burrito to name a few.
At lunchtime, there’s Sticky Pork Tacos, a Sashimi Salmon Poke Bowl and Stone’s Throw Bibimbap which is made up of warm, crunchy brown rice, braised beef, veggies, Kimchi, crispy egg, Korean gochujang BBQ sauce and soy sauce.
To sip, there are freshly pressed juices and healthy smoothies plus milkshakes and of course, coffees.
The kids menu features Banana and Cheese French Toast, a Kids Picnic Platter and Pancakes so you won’t need to share any of yours.
Stones Throw is serving up a sweet garden haven where you can gather with a group of friends, kick back in the sunshine and snack to your hearts content.
Pop on down to give their new space some love.
