Head to Currumbin RSL for your Friday knock-offs.

Watching the clock wind its way to your Friday afternoon knock-off time is a slice of utopia. The weekend is right around the corner, with forty-eight hours off from work to enjoy some of the best beaches in the world and some stellar going out options. It shouldn’t be forgotten though, that starting the weekend off the right way shouldn’t be handled with a blasé attitude. Selecting the right knock-off venue, with the best atmosphere, surrounded by your gang is every hard-working 9-5er’s dream scenario.

One such establishment which is no stranger to providing locals with an environment to wind down with great drinks and bites is Currumbin RSL. After an extensive renovation last year, the venue is one of the southern Gold Coast favourite hangouts. So, with December the official start of balmy summer afternoons, they have teamed up with Tempus Two Wines to excitedly bring to life their Friday afternoon/evening series: Vino & Vinyl.

The premise is simple, celebrate the arrival of the weekend in true Queensland style with a wine in hand next to a pristine body of water and some great live music — what more could you ask for? Tempus Two will have their pop-up cart on the deck pouring a superb selection of crisp cold whites and smooth fruity red wines.

Entertainment will kick-off each Friday from 2pm – 5pm with a smorgasbord of local upcoming musical talents like acoustic virtuosos Zac Hubbard and Luke Pauley, providing a great backdrop as you settle in for your first drink. Afterwards, DJ Cory Hotline will turn the dial up a notch with disco and house fused beats from 5pm – 8pm. More live music will be available inside the Lounge Bar from 8pm – midnight with fun acts such as cover band maestros the Smashed Crabs until the clock strikes twelve. Meaning — if you’ve done the maths — that’s a whopping 10 hours of potential frivolous Friday behaviour at your fingertips.

And this is even before we’ve mentioned the extensive full dining, bar snacks and epic pizza menu, which should make hanging your apron up on a Friday night pretty much a no-brainer.

Currumbin RSL’s Vino & Vinyl events are every Friday throughout December (excluding New Year’s Eve). Be sure you don’t miss out on this brilliant creek-side series showcasing delectable wines and all framed by superb live music! We’ll see you there!

When: Every Friday in December from 2pm — midnight (excluding New Year’s Eve)
Where: Currumbin RSL, 165 Duringan Street, Currumbin
