Escape the big shopping centres at The Shoe Vault in Canungra.
If there’s one item, two technically, that will cause even the most sensible saver to blow their loot, it’s shoes. Our footwear fetish is forever fierce, whether it’s that perfect pair of timeless boots, or dazzling summer slides that will you go perfectly, with…umm.…well nothing yet, but we’ll totally find something coz buying threads to match our treads is how we shop.
So imagine a gorgeous store in the heart of Canungra boasting the highest quality ladies’ and gents’ shoes and continually refreshed with the latest styles. We’re talking the finest brands from Spain, Portugal, Italy, Turkey, and Brazil and besides reading like our dream vacay itinerary, it’s also a lusty line-up of on-fleek footwear origins.
We’re of course referring to The Shoe Vault, a slice of heaven for shoe enthusiasts seeking unique and eclectic styles, and those who’d rather ditch the shopping centre rat race and head to the stunning hinterland.
Owners Nora Jones and Matthew Jones have a bustling business on their hands (or feet…) and genuinely get their ‘kicks’ out of helping customers find the perfect shoe.
Opening eight years ago, they pride themselves not only on the quality of their stock, but also the consistently friendly customer service and wide range of shoewear.
Think both vibrant and neutral hued sandals, slides, espadrilles, casual heels, wedges, ankle boots, long boots, UGGs, everyday walking shoes, and even orthotic comfort shoes.
Fella’s, you’re not forgotten here with a stylish range of men’s shoes to keep hoofs looking and feeling good and PS, many-a-woman has cited good footwear choices as a dealbreaker #SoleMates.
A warm and inviting rustic space, The Shoe Vault is rich in historic charm and set amongst pretty-as-a-picture gardens and greenery. Well known for providing the Scenic Rim with the most comfortable and fashionable shoes, it’s not just the locals who source their treads here.
Loyal regulars travel from far and wide for their extensive range of beautiful Euro designs. Day-trippers also can’t help but pop in for a squiz and we dare you to leave without a boot full of amazing purchases. After all, if the shoe fits….
It’s not just all about the shoes though, and this might be the most ridiculous thing we’ve ever said because it’s always about the shoes #truth. What we mean is that there’s more to The Shoe Vault than fabulous footwear, including our other Achilles heels; leather handbags and gorgeous Adorne jewellery #HeartEyesEmoji. In other words, it’s a one-stop-shop for accessories, AKA actual utopia.
There’s a beautiful market space out back which has a new lick of paint and opens Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, rounding out the trifecta of what women want.
The only thing that could make this place even better is a coffee shop and a homewares store and boom, there’s both!
Joining The Shoe Vault family is Cosy Café for that mandatory coffee hit. Plus, you’ll also find Retrohub, your go-to for cool memorabilia, a giftware store (Secret Santa sorted), and the newly opened thong shop coz us Coasties can never have enough flip flops.
So whether you’re channelling that ‘well-heeled’ vibe or just want an excuse to get out of town and unwind, The Shoe Vault and its picturesque setting are the perfect ‘pair’.
