Ho ho holy moly folks! It’s that time of the year again when we hang the mistletoe, cover anything and everything in tinsel, and shamelessly belt out Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” on repeat. And this just in; our good friends at The Star Gold Coast are turning up the festive dial to 11 with their Not So Silent Night Christmas Ball on Saturday 16th December.
Hold on for ‘deer’ life because The Star, aka the GC’s five-star-fun-parlour will pull out all the stops for this ‘elfin awesome Christmas soiree. Jam-packed with fun, laughter, dancing, and holiday cheer, tickets are being snapped up faster than Barbie merch at the pre-Christmas Big W toy sale.
First up, let’s talk dress code coz #priorities. Sleigh all day night and don(ner) your finest cocktail attire #FestiveFashionFace-off. Now let’s unwrap the menu which is next level holly jolly good. Starting with a tree-mendous spread of canapes including a selection of hand rolled sushi, chicken kofta with pomegranate yoghurt, and pumpkin and almond samosa with mango relish, it’ll be your taste buds’ best Christmas yet! Then cue the entrées with alternate serves of Smoked Salmon, Dill and Lemon Crème Fraiche with pickled onion, capers and croutons, plus Serrano Ham with grilled asparagus, whipped goats curd, savoury muesli, aged balsamic #drool.
Conserve some stomach real estate for the main course, offering alternate serves of Beef Tenderloin with potato gratin, broccolini, and cafe de Paris butter, along with Roasted Chicken Breast with baby potato, brussels sprouts and bacon, chicken jus. And the foody finale; a selection of delectable mini desserts hand-crafted by the Star’s very own Pastry Chef. Our advice; resist the temptation to succumb to a festive nosh induced food coma coz friends, the dancefloor awaits #SleighMyNameSleighMyName.
Stay hydrated with a 4.5-hour beverage package, with sparkling, red and white wine, a variety of beers, and non-alcoholic drinks for the DD. Now, let’s discuss entertainment because it would be ‘rudolph’ us not to when it’s this epic. 42 Band, one our country’s leading live acts proudly presented by the award-winning Hanlon Brothers, will be grooving the night away belting out latest and greatest RnB, soul, and hip-hop music bangers. Plus, local DJ Libre will be spinning those beats like only he can so prepare to shake it like a (North) pole-aroid picture.

Get ready to relive the heat of the summer of ’63, while Baby and Johnny bring their iconic moves to life following by a band encore playing your favourite Dirty Dancing tracks. Sleeping Beauty – Royal Czech Ballet
Who needs a prince charming when you’ve got a ticket to Sleeping Beauty at The Star Gold Coast? The Royal Czech Ballet are sure to leave you spellbound in this classic fairytale favourite, so you won’t want to sleep on this one. It’s the timeless tale of a princess taking the world’s longest snooze (sounds nice tbh) before she’s woken by a handsome prince, enjoy being transported to a magical realm as the dancers take to the stage in the most incredible costumes. We’ve been welcoming the momentary bliss that comes with the return of warmer weather, until… it hits us. The realisation that it’s almost spring and basically one long blink until – suddenly, it’s December… ZOMG, how is it already time to lock in our silly season soirees?!

Also, there’s mud cake, fresh berries and vanilla brulée praline cups, so actually is it too late to change our minds?
The final but equally as tempting Mistletoe Moments offers an enchanting plated affair for $115.00 pp. A 2 course alternate serve with your choice of entree & main OR main & dessert #decisionsdecisions and that all important 3 hour beverage package. The main event includes an alternate drop between barramundi, herb crushed potatoes, seasonal greens, blistered cherry tomatoes, salsa verde or the grilled sirloin, caramelized balsamic onion jam, potato rosti, baked parsnip, zucchini, vine tomato jus, so no matter which way you go there’s going to be some very happy campers.
All three packages include venue hire for events 30 guests and above, which offers an epic assortment of venues to soak up the idyllic surrounds of the Mercure grounds. If you’re not in the mood for your visit to be quite so short and sweet, there’s always the option to extend your visit with a stay in one of their modern Resort Rooms and make the most of those top-notch Mercure facilities instead of just, y’know, admiring from afar.
