While striving to stay on top of New York's hottest culinary trends, Tribeca NYC has launched a new dinner menu. But don't despair, their crowd-drawing ribs are still on the menu
Well known amongst locals, Tribeca NYC prides themselves on having some of the freshest, most authentic and on-trend American dishes on the Gold Coast. More often than not, a Gold Coaster will tell you for the best ribs you’ve got to go to Tribeca on Chevron Island, and that’s not by chance, these boys have done their research!
Brothers Shannon and Brandon Pollard have each had a successful stint in professional sports and therefore spent copious amounts of time in the States. During their athletic careers they fell in love with American cuisine (who wouldn’t?). Since returning to the Gold Coast, the duo along with their mother Carolyn have put their best foot forward in presenting the Coast with some of America’s most loved dishes. They use annual trips as a chance to study everything from culinary style and taste to wait staff attire at New York City’s top restaurants and hidden-gems. As a result, Tribeca’s menu can change in a New York minute. Sahnnon and Brandon have changed the menu 5 times in 16 months to keep their ‘Taste of New York’ up to date!
There is a restaurant in NYC that serves a whopping 38 kinds of Mac ’n’ Cheese and the boys have brought their favourite, Buffalo Crab Mac ’n’ Cheese, back for us to enjoy (yay for research!).
Just because there are simple dishes like Mac ‘n’ Cheese on the menu, don’t be fooled, this ain’t no regular American joint. Its a small venue with a sophisticated fit out. Yes the ribs are finger licking good, but you’ll be eating them with pinkies out.
Some of the other sinful items on the menu include the Ron Jeremy Jr Hot Dog, the Sinatra Supper which is a 1/2 Rack Pork Ribs, Teriaki Chicken Wings, Grilled Prawns and award winning Kinkawooka Black Mussels(yes please!), and of course ribs. With a current emphasis on seafood in NYC, Brandon recommends the prawn fireball and tells us it is his favourite dish. We liked them, but we’ve got to give a shot out to the tacos too.
We aren’t the only ones recognising how fantastic the food at Tribeca is. They are currently finalists in the QLD Taste Awards their grilled prawn salad and for the pepper prawn chicken. However in our opinion, nothing compared to the fall off the bone Harlem Rack Ribs served with a side of potato salad, they were truly one of the best dishes we’ve tried in a while (Fo real!).
Wednesday get a rack of ribs for $22! It’s a steal and everybody knows it, so you’ll have to book in advance if you want to take advantage of this amazing deal. It’s not uncommon for them to be booked three weeks in advance!
Pre-paid coffee cards. For $11 you can get a card that will get you small coffees for $2.75 and for $17 you can get large coffees for $3.75.
Their killer selection of wine is so good they have made award-winning wine writer, Tyson Stelzer’s top places to get wine on the Gold Coast list. Regarding Tribeca NYC’s selection, Tyson has said “You don’t need to go to a five-star venue to get five-star wine.” Other venues on the list include Moo Moo, Palazzo Versace and The Fish House.
