Sweet, sugary good times have arrived Gold Coasters and they come in the form of the prettiest, most stacked cupcakes you’ve ever laid eyes upon.

Yes, cupcakes, Gods gift to children’s birthday parties and adults who are partial to sprinkles and tiny, Insta-worthy cakes (so everyone).

Who brings us these delightful treasures you ask? Well friends (we ate a few cupcakes so excuse the sugar high), it’s the crew at Baked GC in Runaway Bay and specifically cake baker extraordinaire Tamar Gagie, who is our new favourite gal.

Tamar, an artist (obviously) has been baking these absolute masterpieces for years and until just recently, was only offering custom cakes. Now though, with a sparkly new space up her sleeve, Tamar is offering her epic creations to the rest of us and if you’re not already on your way there, hop to it.

Baked GC can be found on Lae Drive in Runaway Bay, it’s a compact space with bright pink walls, pretty paper feature decorations in one corner and a big old plant in another plus a leafy mural and, of course, a cabinet filled with magic (AKA cupcakes).

Pop in and grab some takeaway cuppies or sit down and devour a few with a tasty cup of coffee to wash them down. You’re a winner either way.

Cupcake-wise, we very highly recommend Salted Caramel (with caramel popcorn on top guys), Coco Citrus and Milli Vanilli (because, sprinkles). But one of each would probably be in your best interest.

Everything is made fresh, on site daily with all-Aussie ingredients and a whole lot of love – once you’ve met Tamar you’ll immediately see her passion for her craft.

Not only her craft but the local area, she’s been a northern Gold Coast resident her whole life and opened Baked GC to share her goodies with the community.

Besides the sweet, sweet goodness though, a menu filled with some absolutely delicious looking croissants and toasties will be launched in the next couple of weeks and we’re going back the minute they do.

There’s a croissant called Porky filled with BBQ hand pulled pork, jack and cheddar cheese, rocket and sour cream, so that’s amazing. There’s also the Beef and Gravy boat with chunky beef, house made gravy, cheese and onion and The Ham Wallet with ham off the bone, sweet tomato medley and Gruyere cheese. STOP IT.

The toasties are also the goods but croissants are the love of our lives. And cupcakes.

The cabinet also features an array of Nourished by Sally Robbie raw, vegan treats should that be your persuasion and D Point 10 donuts will also take up a space in there quite soon.

So everything you could ever need can be found at Baked GC.

Do yourself a favour and consume the lot. Your tastebuds will thank you.
