It’s a family business, if ya catch my drift (insert New York mob voice). Sue and Duane run a tight ship when it comes to flippin’ patties and blendin’ shakes (they aren’t called the God Father of gangster shakes for nothin’!). They make sure everything coming out of the kitchen is mind blowingly insane.
Each over-the-top menu item (named after a gangster), is a heavy hitter. The ‘Nicky Untouchable’ comes piled high with two thick angus beef patties, crispy chicken schnitzel, runny fried egg, hash browns, salty bacon, ooey-gooey cheese, salad and onion rings. To top it off, it also comes with a basket of fries! And get-a-loada-dis, the ‘Fat Tony’ gangster dog has the ‘family secret sauce’ creamy mashed potatoes, grilled cheese and beer battered golden french fries. It’s a whole meal in a bun!
If you are boss enough, try the ‘Harlem Hatchet’ for breakfast. Only one person has ever finished this massive stack of peanut butter, nutella, chocolate, marshmallow and ice-cream pancakes (talk about a belly buster!). Save room for dessert, because Gangster and Gatsby is known for having Queensland’s biggest ‘freak shakes’. No joke, these monster shakes come in a jar about as big as your face and are packed with every sweet imaginable. There is obviously no shortage of creativity in the Gangster kitchen. We tried the ‘Flamingo Shake’ with lush strawberries, dreamy white chocolate, sweet cream and gracious piles of strawberry biscuits, cakes and lollies.
If you haven’t already guessed, every outrageous dish is totes Instagram worthy! #burgerporn #freakshake. Round up the crew and get your mob on. Open for breakfast and lunch, make sure you clear your schedule after, you are sure to be in a food coma after being lit up by these gangster chefs.
