Listen up guuuuuuurlz and guyzzzzzzzz because we’re about to talk about a musical. Not your average cookie-cutter or operatic style, oh no, this is all kinds of loud and proud, shimmer and shine and frivolously fabulous!

Inspired by the greatest shows on Broadway, Fluffy, Harry K Productions and the team behind ‘Brunch with Bite’ proudly present the ultimate Drag and Dine experience; HEY FELICIA! 2.0 at The Island. Razzle dazzle darling!

After a sell-out season one, the queens are back and this time gracing the glitter strip (I mean, is it not a match made in heaven) with their big hair, show-stopping (or starting!) costumes and bolder than bold makeup because #MoreIsMore.

Starring not one, not two, but FIVE iconic Brisbane drag superstars, this is a must-see because firstly, there can never be too many queens, and secondly because drag… That is all! Let Vollie LaVont, Mandy Moobs, BeBe Gunn, ShuShu Funtanna and Scarlett Fever transport you to a world of song, dance and all-things-sparkly with their world class drag prowess.

Putting the D in Diva, they bring life to everyone’s fave songs from renowned musicals like Chicago and Rocky Horror Picture Show. But that’s not all, they’re also giving the best iconic rainbow anthems the ‘HEY FELICIA! treatment’, creating the ultimate par-tay vibe and a night you’ll never forget.

To whet your appetite, think Kylie (OBVS), Cher, Priscilla, Shania and man, you’ll feel like a woman alright! Their moves are naughtier than a toddler mid-tanty and their gags will cause laugh-out-loud moments for at least the next week.

Tickets are $105pp plus booking fee and include the show with your glamorous drag queen hosts, alternate-drop main meal, and a 2-hour drinks package (now you’re talking!) with French sparkling, wines and premium beers.

Largest GC Rooftop Bar: The Island Rooftop

Rooftop in Paradise

The largest rooftop bar on the Gold Coast has opened! The Island Rooftop takes full advantage of Gold Coast’s blue skies, green palms and pastel high rises.

Fashioned on vintage California, The Island Rooftop is located in the 1960’s Surfers Paradise icon, Island Resort (previously Islander Resort) which is currently in the midst of a massive refurbishment, with room bookings anticipated to be available by March 2017.

Lush greenery, ocean glimpses, chilled tunes, couches, communal tables and a long bar made from marble, your rooftop essentials are covered. Throw in the high-rise surroundings and the Gold Coast’s forever pleasing weather and you’ve now found a new home for your summer antics (autumn, winter and spring too).

The perfect thing to do in the Gold Coast for those lunch time drinks that go long into the afternoon; you will be able enjoy Mediterranean and modern Caribbean influenced tapas accompanied by some impressive cocktails. The Island Cup (to share.. who’s to say you can’t enjoy one to yourself) concocted with Beefeater gin, elderflower cordial, red grapes, pressed green apple, lemon, mint and soda. Or perhaps the Island Colada, appropriately served in a coconut with Havana 3yo, freshly pressed pineapple, coconut water, coco lopes and coconut sugar blended together.. all the antioxidants.

Bringing back the Sunset Strip vibes to Surfers Paradise, the large and spacious rooftop bar is set to host big name live music events and DJ’s. The expertise of the Katarzyna Group (owners of the likes of Cloudland, Family and Birdees in Brisbane) is a sure sign that The Island Rooftop is going to be a destination venue high on the must do list. And for all the “insiders” out there, there’s even talks of a penthouse nightclub to go on top of the Island!

Rooftop bar, penthouse nightclub, ocean glimpses …The Island is going to leave you saying one thing… welcome to paradise.
