Ohemgee – it’s happened. That moment when you step outside and realise that winter is all over red rover #byefelicia. The air feels different, you dig out your spring threads, and dial your squad to announce hibernation is officially dunzo for another year. And what better way to make your social comeback than Garden Kitchen & Bar’s Jazz & Gin nights at The Star Gold Coast. Sounding off every Thursday until the 19th of October, your next six weeks’ fun aGINda is sorted.

Starting at 6:30 pm, Garden Kitchen & Bar will combine two of life’s greats which go together like, well, jazz and gin! Let their talented bartenders craft their sinfully good cocktails whilst you soak up the soulful sounds of their esteemed lineup of jazz performers.

Now we love water, particularly when it’s frozen and surrounded by gin, so firstly let’s chew the scat, umm, we mean fat, about the cocktail menu. For fans of the humble G&T, the Bombay Premium Cru & Tonic is calling your name. Then, sip on a Mango Smash made with freshly squeezed lime, Bombay Sapphire Gin and the exotic fusion of mango and coconut #justyes. Or why not try the Rhubarb & Grapefruit Spritz and/or an Elderflower & Lemon Martini and srsly, you had us at elderflower. This bad boy is topped with a citrus bubble for that pin-worthy gram post and is so delish it’ll make James Bond update his catch phrase.

Plus, there’s a Build Your Spritz menu allowing you to embrace your inner mixologist – sans the risk of stuffing up the portions and smashing the fancy glassware. First, select your Bombay Gin (Sapphire, Premier Cru or Citron Presse), choose your ‘fever-tree’ (we’re here for the Italian Blood Orange), and then your garnish (lime and ginger please).

We could bang on about cocktails all day long and absolutely no-one is surprised to hear this, but let’s make some noise for the jazztastic performers!

On the 7th of September, Jake Meywes Trio will grace the stage, returning for our enjoyment on the 21st of September, 5th and 19th of October. Jake is a vocal powerhouse who effortlessly blends Jazz, Funk, and Soul into a contemporary style that’ll knock your sax off.

On the 14th of September and 12th of October, it’s time for the Sarah Hyland Trio to steal the spotlight. Fresh from making waves in the New York City jazz scene, Sarah will captivate everyone with her enchanting vocals and magnetic stage presence.

And let’s not forget the Aaron West Trio on the 28th of September, led by a guitar virtuoso who was inspired by the great Stevie Ray Vaughan. Aaron’s mastery of jazz guitar and vocals, honed at the Conservatorium of Music, will leave you wanting more.

So, whether you’re a gin connoisseur, a jazz enthusiast, or just someone looking for a bloody (orange soda Bombay Gin) good night out, ‘swing’ on in to Jazz & Gin nights at Garden Kitchen & Bar. Now go on – ‘scat’!
