We thought there was something fishy going on in Broadbeach and turns out, we were right – the legends behind Kickin’Inn have been quietly building our newest go-to spot to get your seafood fix.
What do you say, ready to kick it Kajun style? So, what’s all this fuss we’re making about Kickin’ Inn, we hear you ask? Well it’s the only place you’ll want to get to if you’re keen to get you know, well acquainted with your meal, while you chow down.
That’s right, it’s the loaded seafood boil you and your tum have been wishing for and luckily for you, Kickin’Inn are here to grant that wish with the first Gold Coast restaurant officially open.
You’ll find these guys nestled in the heart of Broadbeach, bringing a unique spin to your classic seafood dining experience with a laidback vibe so you can enjoy the best in fresh seafood without all the fancy fare.
None of this ‘no playing with your food’ nonsense here, you heard us mum and dad, if you’re expecting a fancy knife and fork feed then look away because you’ll want to roll up your sleeves and get around each tender morsel.
So what sets Kickin’Inn apart from other seafood joints you’re familiar with you say? Its interactive dining concept, of course. No stuffy plates or silverware here – at Kickin’Inn, they’re all about getting down and dirty with your food. Picture this: Your table covered (and we mean COVERED) in the best and biggest lots of seafood you can think of like king crab, prawns, mussels and more. We’re drooling just thinking about it.
If you’re a bit crabby at the thought of the mess, then stress less because you can opt to keep your food in its boiler bag and voila – all the flavour without having to sacrifice that pretty little table of yours.
Now let’s be honest, it’s all going to boil down to your seafood of choice when it comes to having the best meal of your life so hear us out when we say we’re partial to a crab claw or 10.
At the heart of Kickin’ Inn’s menu is their signature dish – the Kickin’ Mixed Bag. This mouth watering feast features a bounty of fresh seafood, prawns, mussels, crab, and more, all tossed in their signature Kajun sauce. Served in a bag and poured directly onto the table, the Kickin’ Mixed Bag is a feast for both the eyes and your stomach.
And if you’re worried about making a mess, fear not – that’s all part of the experience at Kickin’Inn. In fact, the messier, the better! There’s something incredibly liberating about ditching your decorum and digging into food a la toddler style. You know, free range as we like to call it.
Of course, Kickin’Inn offers more than just the Kickin’ Mixed Bag. Their menu is filled with an array of Cajun-inspired dishes, from spicy jambalaya to tasty little baby octopus – a personal favourite of ours.
If you come bearing a friend who isn’t a seafood fiend like the rest of us (not judging, just disappointed), then you’ll be pleased to know they can tuck into a delicious range of fried favourites like chicken tenders, kickin’ wings and mozzarella sticks so no one’s leaving hungry.
