Kiyomi’s Omakase awaits.
Kiyomi’s Omakase awaits.
When it comes to Japanese fine dining, Kiyomi at The Star Gold Coast is the cherry blossom of our restaurant scene – elegant, vibrant, and completely unforgettable. It’s no secret that this multi-award winner will soy-tify even the most discerning diner, and we’re here to unpack their infamous ten-course Omakase Menu. Whether you’re a sashimi stan, tempura enthusiast, or a sucker for sushi, trust us – you cannot miso this.
First off, let’s decode “Omakase” for the uninitiated. It’s Japanese for “I’ll leave it up to you,” and in this case, you’re leaving it to Kiyomi’s esteemed chefs. These culinary geniuses are as skilled as samurais, slicing, dicing, and plating with precision and flair. They have masterfully curated a menu that is a celebration of Japanese artistry, dancing between tradition and innovation with where every bite.
Start your Omakase odyssey with the Smoked Fish Dip, served with crispy lotus chips dusted in aonori salt. Then comes the Hiramasa Kingfish Miso Ceviche, topped with crispy potato and green chili, creating a perfect harmony of heat, crunch, and citrus zing.
Next up is the Shiro King Salmon, where radish, shiro soy, yuzu kosho, and kombu oil join forces to create a bite so enlightening, it’s basically a haiku in edible form. For the tempura fans, the Bay Lobster Tempura with sambal aioli and grapefruit salad is as bold as it is perfectly balanced – and you’d be forgiven for opting out of sharesies mode, refusing to share even a crumb of its golden glory.
Then comes the showstopping, Dengakuman. This miso-glazed toothfish is sensationally silky, paired with Japanese salsa and pickled cucumber for a perfect pop of contrast.
On the meatier side of things, the Lamb Rump with warm eggplant and shiso chimichurri cannot be beat, unless perhaps you’re comparing it to the mouthwatering Wagyu Flank 9+ MBS. Served with umami puree, takana, and kombu veal jus, this dish is so tender it practically melts in your mouth faster than you can say “arigatou.” And don’t forget to save some chopstick skills for the Chef’s Premium Omakase Sushi, a seasonal selection that will make sushi purists swoon.
Finally, let’s talk desserts (one of our favourite topics). The Yamazaki Caramel Macchiato is coffee ice cream and whiskey foam magic, while the Kiyomi Mochi Ice Cream brings a fancy frozen strawberry milkshake vibe that’s the perfect sweet ending.
If you’re craving an authentic Japanese experience, this is your sign to make a booking. The Omakase Menu is more than just a meal – it’s a journey through Japan without needing your passport. And at Kiyomi, every bite tells a story.
So, grab your chopsticks and your foodie partner in crime and let the chefs lead the way. To learn more about Omakase click here. This dinner-time menu is $175 per person (minimum of two people) and in our opinion, it’s worth every yen. Just don’t blame us when your regular sushi joint doesn’t quite cut it anymore.
