Sanctuary Cove Winter Wine Festival

Taste all the tipples this weekend.

Festivals dedicated to wine are our new favourite thing. They bring us joy like nothing else does and so, it is with great pleasure we bring you news of the very good time that is sure to be the Sanctuary Cove Winter Wine Festival.

What could be more delightful than spending a chilly winter weekend sipping tipples from across the world? Seriously though, what? We’ll wait.

Nothing, we agree. So here’s what’s going to happen on the 28th and 29th of July (this weekend) – you will wander through the festival tasting some of the best wines in the world while attending food and wine matching events (if that tickles your fancy) and generally living your best life.

White wine, Shiraz and Pinot Noir masterclasses will run throughout the weekend and for just $15 per person you can learn from actual wine masters (goals) about their particular drop and how it came about.

Excitingly, a fun adventure called The Wine Trail exists and basically involves you doing the aforementioned wandering through 10 wine tasting spots and exchanging coupons for wine tastings. It’s a choose your own adventure style scenario of the highest order and we highly recommend you get on board.

Some of the stops include the Black Angus Bar & Grill, The Bimbadgen Van and Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove’s Verandah Bar (which is next level).

The Winemakers Dinner is something you should absolutely attend if a six-course wine degustation is up your alley (and trust us, it is). It’s set to be a culinary journey led by The Grange’s Executive Chef Matt Hart along with some of Australia’s most notable wine makers. With a focus on enjoying seasonal produce and the very best harvests, Chef Hart will employ his bold yet simple food philosophy and that is something you don’t want to miss. You’ll feast, you’ll learn and you might even make a new friend or two. What a time. Better nab your spot for that one quick smart though.

Of course, there are also various restaurants in the Marine Village to try while you’re on a feasting roll. From Black Angus Steak to Black Ink Spaghetti with wood-fired salmon, each restaurant is bringing their A game to offer a signature dish to the good folk of the Gold Coast.

Seems like Sanctuary Cove is the place to be this weekend doesn’t it.

Click here to grab your tickets and be quick, wine festivals are life and now everybody knows it.

See you there.
