Unwined with sunset sips at Witches Falls Winery.
Unwined with sunset sips at Witches Falls Winery.
Gold Coasters rejoice… because another glorious spring (and summer) sips season awaits.
One premier pozzy that’s been pulling out all the stops, or should we say stoppers – is Witches Falls Winery, a hidden oasis for wine lovers tucked quietly away within the picture-perfect GC Hinterland, that might well have flown under your radar.
Until now, that gris.
It’s high time you hiked mountainside and said merlot to Witches Falls Winery because they’re rolling out both the red carpet, and the actual reds, to celebrate the return of spr-ummer – with a lineup of festivities that’s even more packed than their cellar (if that’s at all possible).
And also, yes we did just make up a collective term for spring-summer, and no, we will not stop trying to make #spr-ummer happen.
The jam-packed calendar of Witches Falls festivities kicks off as of September 29 – arriving just in time for the King’s Birthday (still sounds weird) long weekend, might we add.. #howfortuitous (or should we say fruit-tuitous?)
Meaning as soon as THIS VERY WEEKEND you can be kicking back vineyard-side, luxuriating over shucked oysters and sun-soaked sips.. and this absolutely warrants shouty caps, no?
#weekendplanssorted
The first contender for your immediate consideration needs to be the Sunset Sips event.
Held every Friday and Saturday arvo, with the cellar door opening hours extending until 7pm for your #goldenhour pleasure.
Perch up with your bevvy of choice in hand as the sun sinks low in this stunner of a spot – with exceptional wine, cider, or craft beer perfectly poised to round out those balmy GC afternoons and evenings.
Those taking on #Ocsober (or simply just the drive home) need not miss out on the fun, with alcohol-removed wines also available.
All while simultaneously savouring those tranquil vineyard views… we can’t think of a better way to unwined, tbh.
For an espe-shell-y indulgent treat, also catch the much-anticipated return of the famous Witches Falls Winery’s Oyster Nights, taking place every week on alternating Fridays and Saturdays from 3pm to 7pm.
Sidle up to a dozen natural oysters, paired with your pick of those aforementioned sips straight from the stellar cellar door selection, of course… why yes, we will absolutely accept this rosé, thank you very much.
Avoid an ‘aw shucks’ moment by pre-ordering your indulgent oyster experience for $25 per dozen – though those who prefer spontaneity can still ‘shell out’ a little extra, with limited quantities available on the day for $30 per doz.
And if oysters aren’t your thing, there’s also the option to build your own personalised grazing platter with locally sourced produce to perfectly complement your Witches Falls experience #yescheese
To top it all off, Witches Falls Winery also rustled up a little treat for the ears with live music to ensure all the senses are sufficiently seduced.
Every Saturday from 3pm to 6.30pm, and every Sunday from 12pm to 4pm the beats will be flowin’ right along with the award-winning fine wines and craft brews.
So all that’s left is to curl up with your ‘wine’ and only, and whisper sweet nothings… might we suggest for the occasion James Blunt’s iconic words ‘you’re bottleful’… (or something like that).
And frankly, if the thought of frolicking sound-of-music-style (okay, so technically Julie Andrews didn’t have a glass of vino in hand, but you get the gist) surrounded by the picturesque grounds of Tamborine Mountain’s very own (and only!) working winery doesn’t sound like the grape-st way ever to toast the return of warmer weather, well, we’re not sure we can be friends.. #youcantsipwithus
What are you waiting for? Wine not take a leisurely trip up to Tambo and soak up the surrounds of the idyllic Witches Falls Winery, with as much to see as there is to sip.
A decadent vineyard adventure to celebrate the return of #Spr-ummerOfFun awaits!
Don’t forget that bookings are essential to secure a spot, we’d hate you to miss out!
