The healthy new Broadbeach eating hub with big plans to dominate

URBAN foodstore brings ‘foodvenience’ to the Gold Coast.

Broadbeach is absolutely bursting with new goodness of late – a new look, new entertainment precinct and of course new eateries are opening left, right and centre, giving us all a whole lot more reasons to spend time in the beachside suburb.

The latest newbie on the radar is URBAN foodstore, a café slash marketplace on Surf Pde, under the Phoenician serving up a packed menu bursting with nourishing, healthy eats that’ll make you glow from the inside out. Plus of course a few “naughty” things thrown in for good measure.

URBAN foodstore is the work of Geliana and Scot Graham, who spent months researching international venues and trends to find the perfect balance between food for now and food for later (their motto and a movement we are 100% behind).

The space is decked out primarily with high ceilings, wood, stone and black accents to create a modern, natural vibe and the addition of a neon sign reading ‘Live Consciously’ to set the perfect scene. At the back, a little marketplace stocks KeepCups, healthy teas, protein-filled snacks, lollies and Tim Tams (there’s the balance), so you can pop in for a tasty breakfast and take a few extra goodies home with you too.

The idea behind the combined café and marketplace is ‘foodvenience’ a term the Graham’s have coined for the space that focuses on offering food that is fresh, delicious, balanced, sustainable while also being as convenient as possible (beause ain’t nobody got time for that).

The menu is based around feel-good eats for both breakfast and lunch and it’s filled with traditional favourites made extra flavoursome and extra good for you.

The Smashed Avo is an extra special treat served on sourdough with feta, housemade dukkah (so yummy) and fresh rocket dressed with herbed olive oil and lemon juice and it’s probably the tastiest of it’s kind we’ve ever tried.

There are also morning time dishes like Urban Buckwheat Pancakes, the Urban Big Brekky Bowl and French Toast and each has a sweet little spin that you’ll definitely love.

Lunchtime offers dishes like the Signature Buddha Bowl with avocado, quinoa, broccoli, carrot, red cabbage sweet potato and spinach with Chef’s special dressing and we suggest you add grilled chicken too.

There’s also a Crispy Chicken and Haloumi Burger that’s an absolute delight and the Winter Warmer Chargrilled Vegetable and Haloumi (we love haloumi) Stack is one you won’t want to miss.

To drink, there’s Allpress coffee, organic kombucha on tap, nitro coffee, smoothies and a combination of vegan coconut soft serve and kombucha that’s a healthy take on a spider and our new favourite sip.

Basically URBAN foodstore is the perfect mix of fresh, healthy eat in and takeaway food with vegetarian and vegan options plus a few little treats that’ll make your inner child happy.

Pop in for some nourishing goodies, your body will certainly thank you for it.
